“It’s a classic story of sex, drugs, and more sex.”
Sleazy reporter and amateur conman Max Fuentes, beloved hero of The Long Trip, has come back to New York City after months away in the arms of the most beautiful young woman he’s ever met. For once, he’s got his future plotted out, and it looks really good, and his days of endless substance abuse and hangovers might be coming to an end. But suddenly that’s not the case anymore, and Max has to pick himself up, dust himself off, and figure out who he is all over again.
On top of that, he needs to find a new apartment, which he does, but he has to tell the greatest lie he’s ever told to secure it. The biggest threat to that lie is that nerd Emma, who just won’t go away.
Max and Emma don’t really like each other. In fact, the only thing they have in common is the ability to give each other the best sex they’ve ever had, which, playing to their strengths, they do, over and over again. It’s like friends with benefits, but without the “friends” part. But do they actually dislike each other, though? Because if you look closely, you might be able to see some affection growing there, out of sight, where no one will admit to it.
